Abstract
In the present research, seventy two blood samples (both from males and females) were collected from local goatshabituating in Bahawalnagar, Pakistan from December, 2022 –November, 2023 to find the seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis. Blood samples were observed against toxoplasmosis antibodies with commercial test kit latex agglutination (LAT) and ELIZA.The infected host’s samples were thirty six out of the total blood samples infected with Toxoplasma gondii with prevalence rate of 45.2%. Among both sexes male prevalence was 42.8% compared to females 51.7%. In all these age groups prevalence rate was different such as seventy percent in 48 to 60 months, fifty four percent in 36 to 48 months, sixty percent in 24 to 36 months, forty percent in 12 to 24 months and thirty six percent in 1 to 12 months. For hematological parameters total 24 samples of blood were analyzed out of whichtwelve were non-infected and infected hosts. Mean values obtained for infected and non-infected hosts for hematological parameters include PLCR, LYM(uL), MCHC(pg), PDW(fL),RBC(uL), HGB (dL), WBC(uL), MCV (fL), MCHC (pg), HCT respectively. The current study indicated the difference in mean values (P<0.05) in non-infected and infected goats samples and transmission of parasites to humans. As well as results of present research revealed the significant impact of Toxoplasma gondii parasite over the hosts hematology.
